Welcome everyone to this week’s episode. I hope you have been well and still praying for our mutual protection from God in this time of Covid-19.
Life is both great and challenging. However, you can always make the best out of any situation in life. I have never had an encounter with Mpesa Fuliza, but one week ago, I came to experience it as an individual. For those who may not be aware, Fuliza Mpesa is one of the products of the Mpesa platform that enables Mpesa users to complete their transactions when they have insufficient money in their Mpesa account. Little did I know the rich experience coded in this beneficial platform met with mixed reactions. Welcome and walk me through the great lessons I have learned from Fuliza.
Lesson 1: Ask, and it shall be given to you.
Whenever you have insufficient funds in your Mpesa account, Fuliza comes in handy by informing you of what you lack to complete the transactions and goes ahead to ask if you are willing to be assisted. If you say yes, they proceed to pay for you. Learn to ask for help whenever you need it without assuming that someone should know that you need some help. Even God asks us for vital aspects whenever we need anything from Him.
Lesson 2: We are limited.
Every Mpesa user has a specific limit of money that they can be allowed to expend depending on many factors established by either Fuliza or any debt-giving institution. You cannot spend more than your limit. We are limited as humans and can only go as far as our abilities allow. As much as we can stretch our abilities to realize the best we are capable of, let us never deny observing the limitations that we may be having so as not to put the Lord to test by not using our common sense.
Lesson 3: Everyday counts
When you are given Fuliza credit, apart from the standard charges on the amount you are allowed to borrow, you are also charged daily for the credit you take. This means the more days you take to pay the debt, the more monies you have to pay. In our daily lives, the choices we make daily determine the life we live at the end of it. Therefore, we must live every day with full appreciation of our responsibility for how we drive our lives. Blaming others for our actions is a quick way to avoid responsibility but not the solution.
Lesson 4: First things first
Fuliza debt shall always be paid first with any monies that come through your Mpesa account without considering what they were meant for. In other words, you cannot enjoy paying for other transactions before settling Fuliza’s debt. This is a critical step in recognizing that unless we give priority to the important things in life, we will keep doing the minor things in life at the expense of what matters. If we learn to do first things first, all our monies and efforts shall be fruitfully utilized to realize great results that propel us to achieve more in life. Among many things, there is always the most important. Let’s always go for that, for we may not have the luxury of time and resources to accomplish everything we want to.
Lesson 5: Confess your sins.
Before I took my first Fuliza facility in my time of need, I used to laugh at people who used to say, “please don’t send those monies into this Mpesa account because I have Fuliza, instead send them to my other number.” Many have ended up having more than one line. Though I don’t support the idea of people avoiding their responsibility by acquiring an extra Mpesa line, I realize that they have to get the message out to all who send monies to them because the monies may not be meant to repay the Fuliza debt. I would appreciate it if all of us would learn to confess our sins both to one another and God for it enables us to acknowledge our wrongdoings and take responsibility for our actions.
Thanks for following through. Everything we go through in life has a great lesson to remind us of the lasting principles for our survival on this earth and the necessities of the life to come.
